Art on the Tree

Call for Entry: Art on the Tree as well as under it.

Eligibility:

The Eccles Community Art Center is interested in decorating an art center tree with art. This planned holiday exhibit is open to artists who presently reside in the state of Utah. We are looking for small framed canvases, watercolor or mixed media works (maximum 8” x 10”), hand blown, fused glass, turned wood, or ceramic ornaments and other original works to decorate one of the art center’s trees. Reproduction prints are not eligible.



Submissions:

Please submit sample photographs of your work via e-mail to eccles@xmission.com or regular mail: Art on the Tree, Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden, Utah 84401. Please include with your photographs: your name, address, phone number, and a short artist statement. Submissions due October 20, 2011.

Artists will be notified as to chosen work after October 25, 2011.

Actual items will need to be delivered by November 18, 2011 before 4:30 p.m. Artists should provide an accounting sheet including their name, title of the work, and price including the Art Center’s commission. Work should be ready to display. The art center staff may refuse any work that is not ready to display or is damaged on delivery.

Items will be displayed November 29 through December 30, 2011.

Unsold art may be retrieved January 2, 3 & 4, 2012 during regular business hours (9 a.m. to 5p.m.).



Sales:

All art on the Tree works must be for sale. The Eccles Community Art Center will retain a 35% commission on sales. Works sold may be removed from the tree prior to the end of the exhibit, so that patrons may enjoy them during the holiday season.



Liability:

Every reasonable precaution will be taken to protect work submitted. All work submitted will be insured through January 4, 2012 while at the Art Center. Work left at the Art Center after January 4, 2012 is at artist’s own risk and storage charges may accrue. The Eccles Community Art Center does not accept responsibility for works damaged due to incorrect or poor framing or hanging wire.



Opening Reception:

A reception for the artists will be held in association with the December exhibition on Friday, December 2, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Eccles Community Art Center.
