Jill Sjoblom will offer Restorative Yoga workshops at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden one on Monday evenings, beginning at 5:15 p.m. and another on Wednesday afternoons, noon to 1 p.m. January 4 through April 25, 2012. Stumpp and Tamara Anderson will be instructing a Woman’s Dance and Vitality workshop at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden on Thursday evenings 6:35 to 8:00 p.m. January 5 through February 9, 2012. The Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden will open new exhibits for the month. In the main gallery: paintings by Beverly Child. The carriage house gallery will feature paintings by Kory Fluckiger. A reception for the artists is January 6th from 5 to 8 p.m. Exhibits continue through January 28, 2012. Explore Vinyasas Flow Yoga with instructor Lori Parrish on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. January 7, 21, &28 at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden. Artist, Annette Orrock will assist participant 8 years old through adult to improve their drawing skills at a workshop offered January 7th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden. Come experience Twilight Yoga with Jill Sjoblom, a yoga class with soothing music, candlelight and minimal instruction on Monday evenings 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. January 9 through 30th at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden. Discovery how to write a short film with Lena Liozzi at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. January 9 through February 6, 2012 (class not held January 16th). This Film Series workshop is suggested for those ages 10 through adult. Tuition: $35. Pre-registration is suggested and may be done by calling a member of the art center staff at 801-392-6935.

A one evening Yoga workshop for Athletes is scheduled with Jill Sjoblom on Monday, January 9th from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden. Tuition: $15. Experience the flowing movement of Tai Chi with Norm Skanchy on Tuesdays and Thursday, January 10 through February 10, 2012 at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden. Artist, Terrece Beesley will introduce basic watercolor to those ages 15 through adult at a watercolor workshop offered at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. January 10 through February 14, 2012. Mad Science of Greater Salt Lake City will offer hands-on science workshops for students K through 6th at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden on the second Saturday of the month through May 2012. Life Coach, Ronda Devereaux will hold an introductory women’s circle, which consist of a group of women who share, explore, build skills and encourage one another at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden on Saturday, January 14th from 10 a.m. to noon. Susan Snyder will teach a Nature Sketchbook Journaling workshop at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden on Wednesdays, January 18, 25, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, January, 28 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuition: $50. Students should bring a sketchbook of at least 6 x 9 inches of blank, unlined pages and bring their favorite drawing and writing tools. Sat Mandir Khalsa will offer a beginning and an intermediate Kundalini Yoga workshop at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden on Wednesday evening January 18 through March 7, 2012. Tuition: $45 per session. Beginning is offered from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m., intermediate from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. Pre-registration is requested and may be completed by calling a member of the art center staff at 801-392-6935.

It will have standup comedy, songs, and comedy skits. Four of these people are in the military, so a portion of the proceeds will go to a military charity. Dancer, Deja Mitchell will be offering a Generations African dance workshop geared toward those 50 and older at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden on Tuesday evenings from 4 to 5 p.m. January 24th through February 28, 2012. Anyone ages 7 through adult may create an old fashion decoupage snowflake apothecary jar at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden on January 24, 2012 from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Supplies provide. Review the basic moves and steps of Middle Eastern (Belly) Dance with dancer, Zuhra Zakiyah on Tuesdays, January 24, through February 28, 2012 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden. The Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden will accept work for the 13th Black & White Competition on Friday, January 27, 2012 from 9 to 4 and Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 9 to 3 p.m. No work will be accepted after 3 p.m. on January 28th. This competition is open to resident Utah artists working in all media. The work is limited in color to black, white and shades of gray. Entry fee: $7 per piece. Artists are limited to two entries.
